Last Week's Answer:
Armadillos have poor eyesight, but they still have an advantage with these three defenses:
1. They can curl up into a ball of "armor" which is virtually inpenetrable.
2. They dig deep burrows to escape predators in an instant.
3. They can jump up to 3 feet, straight into the air when startled, then dart in any direction at high speed.
One not-so-fun fact is that they do have the ability to contract and carry leprosy. Humans and Armadillos have this in common. Researchers are able to study this disease in armadillos to find remedies and cures for humans.
